WELCOME TO ICE BROOKLINE JP PATRIOTS
Welcome to ICE Brookline Jamaica Plain Pop-Warner Football & Cheerleading, renamed in honor of Ian Cotterell. Ian was one of the founders of the Brookline Jamaica Plain Patriots. He was tremendously loved and respected by everyone who came through the program because of his passion, dedication, and commitment to helping the young men and women in the program develop into respectful and responsible adults. Although Ian has passed on, we strive to continue his mission of building a strong community and uplifting children through the sport he loved most. Welcome to our page! We hope to see you all on the field, cheering on our young athletes and supporting them as they grow both on and off the field. Go Patriots!

We wear pink · We play for a purpose · We support · We spread awareness. All October, BJP Patriots athletes wear pink to support those affected by breast cancer, honor survivors and remember those we have lost — and to remind our athletes that their health matters. Did you know? 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will develop breast cancer in their lifetime; men can get it too (about 1 in 100 diagnoses). Found early, the 5-year survival rate is about 99%. Early detection saves lives. For our athletes: know your body, pay attention to changes, and tell a parent, coach, school nurse or trusted adult if something doesn't feel right. Strong athletes take care of their health. Together we are stronger.
Then & Now: Keyón Lungelow grew up in a BJP Patriots jersey (#7, then #11) and today starts at quarterback for Cathedral High School's varsity as a junior — after leading the JV as QB1 his freshman and sophomore years. "My coaches Mike, Jeff and John were more than just coaches to me — they became family. My Pop Warner experience gave me a strong foundation and prepared me for this next level." See his full Then & Now gallery and story on the Alumni page — proof of where a Patriots foundation can take you.
A Patriots salute to Sgt. Shamar Martin, U.S. Army, for his generous donation to the "ICE" Brookline Jamaica Plain Pop Warner Football & Cheerleading U13 team. Thank you for joining and becoming a part of the BJP Patriots family — and thank you for your service to this nation. See his tribute on the Sponsor board.
